User's history remains in Chrome, after user logs out.

Reported by geoffzm...@gmail.com, Aug 16

Issue description

Chrome Version (from the about:version page): Unknown (was visiting my brother and used his computer -- I can ask him, if needed)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

(1) In Chrome, log in to a Google account to sync the browser with user's information (logins, passwords, bookmarks)

(2) Logout of Google account

What is the expected result?

Any trace of user's information would be removed from Chrome upon logging out of Chrome.

What happens instead?

Passwords and bookmarks remain in Chrome after user has logged out. Allowing other users access to websites via auto-populating logins/passwords, and privacy issues by viewing bookmarks that contained links to hidden sites

Passing to the Sync team who has been thinking about preventing issues like this.
pinging sabineb@: any updates?

Transfering to mastiz@. Do you already have a bug for this?

I don't think we have a bug for this: the reporter expects local history to be wiped after signing out (sync paused). I suppose specifically local the history corresponding to the time when sync was enabled.

Considering this a feature request, similar to ongoing efforts for other sync datatypes (e.g. autofill).
geoffzmail@gmail.com: progress will take a while here.

Meanwhile, the best approach for shared devices is creating separate profiles per user. For a visitor, you can also use a guest profile.
