Use of style transforms applied on elements with javascript for "autoplay" are not working inside an iframe

Reported by liliana....@evolvemediallc.com, Aug 16

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a page that contains an iframe from different domain
2. Iframe should contain an "autoplay" animation done with javascript applying style.transform with rotate, scale, translate x, y and z

What is the expected behavior?
Animation with style modified by javascript should work without user interaction

What went wrong?
http://stg-management.originplatform.com/preview/4483?schedule=0
the image gallery should work without user interaction, this was working on chrome version 67 and stopped on 68

On page and iframe from same domain the animation works
On page and iframe from different domains animation does not work

Did this work before? Yes 67

Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.6
Flash Version:

Looks like something involving a combination of Site Isolation and Animation.
Sending it to Animation for an initial look.

Confirmed broken on Linux by making site-per-process on by default fb1ccf02ee8ca79e1404abfd3a3a7d540b7d2dbd, confirmed working when passing --disable-site-isolation-trials, although strangely not on my local chromium build.

Will try to investigate the underlying cause though it's unclear to me where the code in #2 is exactly. If you could provide a pointer to the code that starts the animation it would be helpful.

Do you know if this will be fixed on the next version?

I can no longer reproduce this, even on the original versions of chrome I tested. Has the site changed? Do you have an old version of the site which reproduces the issue, or, better yet a reduced test case?
