Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Quit any open Chrome browser 2. Launch Chrome 3. Either use the example provided, this jsfiddle ( https://jsfiddle.net/b6p79250/21/ ), or the developer tools to create a Speech Synthesis utterance and run the speak method to play it. 4. use the speechSynthesis.pause() method to attempt to pause the utterance. Notice that it does not pause. However, if you reload the page (in windows you may need to resume or cancel to clear the paused state) or use speechSynthesis.cancel() you'll be able to get a playing utterance to pause. What is the expected behavior? The speechsynthesis utterance should pause. What went wrong? The speechSynthesis.pause method is ignored and the utterance does not pause. Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.13.6 Flash Version:

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.13.3 and Win-10 using chrome reported version #68.0.3440.106 and latest canary #70.0.3522.0. Issue is not seen in OS-Linux. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M60 old builds. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!! |
