Cursor disappears after pasting some text

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open any page with text field (input type="text" or textarea)
2. Try to paste some text for a few times quickly
3. Cursor disappears, but can be moved to different parts of the text (but it's still invisible)

What is the expected behavior?
Cursor should be shown 

What went wrong?
Cursor disappeared

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.4
Flash Version: 

Please fix this, it affects my site (online complaints book)

I can't reproduce this with Chrome 68.0.3440.106 on 10.13.6. I tried all three of:

<input>
<div contenteditable>

and reproducing the codepen example given in the original report, and in no case could I get the cursor to disappear.

Reporter: do you have any extensions installed?
