Linux terminal closing after long suspend/resume

Project Member Reported by avkodipelli@chromium.org, Aug 9

Issue description

Chrome Version: 69.0.3497.33
Chrome OS Version: 10895.19.0
Chrome OS Platform: Coral(santa), Reef(Basking)
Network info: Wifi

Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add
the label below).

Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Install crostini.
(2) Open terminal.
(3) Close lid to suspend device.
(4) Open lid after sometime(I tried after 1hr).
(5) Observe behavior.

Expected Result:
-- No issue and terminal should work normally.

Actual Result:
- Unable to type anything in terminal.
- After few seconds, terminal is closed.
- If we try to open again, most of the cases terminal is not opening.

How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to
reproduce?)
- Almost every time.
- After sometime terminal behavior is normal.

After few minutes, app was closed and then terminal is working.

So far unable to reproduce on my electro (also APL). I've tried suspending it multiple times for long periods of time (multiple hours, sometimes overnight).

The feedback is missing the contents of /var/log/messages, so unable to determine why the terminal would crash. Has this happened again recently?
I am getting a similar issue, when my Pixelbook sleeps with terminal open and visual studio code started from the terminal `code .` I come back and I get the "chrome didn't shutdown properly" with the "restore" button. Also, after this happens, I am unable to open visual studio code until I do a hard restart on the machine.
