Cutting and Pasting to and from Chrome causes a hang (never resolves).

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Keyboard cut and paste into Chrome
2. 
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
Beachball of death;

What went wrong?
Cutting into anything from anywhere causes crash; for example; pasting URL from another document; pasting username or password causes crash (hang)

Crashed report ID: no

How much crashed? Whole browser

Is it a problem with a plugin? No 

Did this work before? Yes last version

Chrome version: 68.0.3440.106  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.6
Flash Version: 

Interestingly enough, the menu cut and paste seem to work. only the keyboard commands cause the hang.

Can you please attach the Apple crash log and the generated server crash id from chrome://crashes ?

It's not generating a crash log... its just spinning until I have to force quit in order actually get my work done.... I don't have all day to wait for the ball to stop.  Chrome is the only program that is doing it.  It also seems to crash if I mouse around the menus.

Thanks for your report.

While Chrome is hanging, can you take a sample using Activity Monitor?

1. Get Chrome into this state
2. Start Activity Monitor
3. Find the "Google Chrome" process in the list (not one of the "Google Chrome Helper" processes) and select it
4. In the gear menu at the top-left, choose "Sample Process"
5. Save the generated sample using the "Save..." button
6. Attach it to this bug

Thanks! Both samples show Chrome hanging trying to enumerate speech synthesis voices. It's weird that we're doing that while pasting.

Is there a specific page that manifests this issue?

I tried invoking window.speechSynthesis.getVoices() on a blank page in 68.0.3440.106 on 10.13.6 (i.e., same setup as you have) and could not reproduce it.

I shut off all accessibility in my system prefs... cut and paste seems to work
