Security chip disappears after focusing omnibox, does erratic things |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version : 68.0.3440.75 OS Version: OS X 10.13.6 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Visit a site with an EV certificate like https://twitter.com 2. Click anywhere in the omnnibox to select the URL, then click anywhere in the page to de-focus the omnibox What is the expected result? The EV chip comes back once the omnibox is de-focused. What happens instead of that? The EV does not come back. A few other funny things happen too: - If you subsequently click back in the omnibox towards the right side, the EV chip will appear and then disappear before the URL becomes selected. - If you subsequently click back in the omnibox towards the left side (e.g. on the "https://"), the Page Info dialog appears and the EV chip comes back and stays. I've attached a screencast, though it might be a little hard to tell what's going on in it.

I can reproduce this. It only happens when zero suggest triggers. It's also not limited to EV certs, it happens anytime text is shown in the security chip (e.g. "Secure"). Seems pretty low priority to me.
