gn pulled from latest sha1 in linux64/gn.sha1 returns UNKNOWN --version

Issue description

1. Check https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/buildtools/+/aec56e26079fba121e589006a88b7cbc1c398cfb/linux64/gn.sha1. It's 57d96a3dc489ea38abf1d7acd466c82db1fac0a1.
2. gsutil cp gs://chromium-gn/57d96a3dc489ea38abf1d7acd466c82db1fac0a1 gn
3. chmod +x gn && ./gn --version

Expected to see the version, but was UNKNOWN.

FWIW, the issue doesn't happen for https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/buildtools/+/9c9fd97928dd45a0d9738af90f7c03b082f1216f.

Sorry, I've been on leave.

I believe this was fixed by https://gn.googlesource.com/gn/+/fdc7a74849dff67d99377918c8b50c3ae7645abf which should have rolled in by now.
