Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install Chrome for Android named version or later
2. Choose "always" when Android launcher asks which app to 
   use (for any link/file) 
3. Observe that your choice is not remembered and Android 
   asks again when you click link/file of the same type

What is the expected behavior?
Android should remember the default setting for the respective type when "always" is chosen.

What went wrong?
Android doesn't remember choice for default app

When I discovered the issue I searched on the web for similar reports, and found some old ones where people could resolve if by uninstalling chrome. I can't uninstall, but deactivating chrome stopped the issue for me. Also I experimented with apks of older chrome versions and found that 65.0.3325 was the last version without that issue.- I'm running Android on a Samsung SM-T520 Tablet
