Issue descriptionExample URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: I'm running into the same issue as reported here over a year back: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/5uIXKfnf7jM;context-place=topicsearchin/chrome/can$27t$20open$20file What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? Whenever click on the downloaded APK, I get a "Can't open file" message Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 68.0.3440.85 Channel: n/a OS Version: Flash Version: Firefox lets me install the downloaded APK and I see the issue only on Chrome on Android.

Unable to reproduce this issue on 68.0.3440.85 using Pixel 2 XL with .apk from https://apkpure.com/sample-android-app-test/com.sabithpkcmnr.admobintegration. i.e; Able to download and install apk file @Reporter: Please provide device details, url on which you are seeing this issue. Also provide sample URL/test apk file to check this issue from our end. This would help in better triaging from our end. Thanks!

Thank you for looking into this. I could download the APK you provided however my APK hosted here: https://www.gocanvas.com/m downloads fine and when I click "Open", I'm taken to the Downloads screen and when I click the APK, I get a toast "Can't open file". Could you try downloading the APK from the link I provided? I tried this on Pixel 2 (OS 8.1.0) with Chrome version: 68.0.3440.85 but when I tried on Galaxy S5 (OS 5.0) with Chrome version 67.0.3396.87, my APK installs and opens fine. Thats said, Firefox version: 61.0 opens the APK always.

Tested the issue in Android and able to reproduce the issue. Steps Followed: 1. Navigated to https://www.gocanvas.com/m 2. Clicked on direct download, file got downloaded and seen in downloads 3. Clicked on it and observed "Can't open file" toast message Chrome versions tested: 60.0.3072.0, 68.0.3440.85 , 70.0.3512.0(Latest canary) OS: Android 9.0.0 Android Devices: Pixel 2 XL Issue is seen from older M-60 builds. Hence considering this issue as Non-Regression and marking as Untriaged for for further inputs from dev team. Please navigate to below link for log's -- go/chrome-androidlogs/870497 Thanks!
