Chrome Version: 68.0.3440.85
OS: Android O
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Download an offline page, open it, share it.
(2) Select to share it with a contact within WhatsApp.
(3) From the very chat with that contact, attempt to open the shared offline page.
What is the expected result?
Chrome should automatically open it or be one of the apps offered to open it.
What happens instead?
Chrome does not automatically open it nor it is offered as a possible app. In my case the app list surprisingly shows Keepass2Android (password database manager) and Moon+ Reader Pro (eBook reader).
When attempting to open the page from Android Downloads, it tries to open it with its internal viewer that is incapable of doing so and shows a blank page. The only way to open it properly with Chrome is by long tapping the item -> "Open with" which then finally lists Chrome as a possible app.
