Issue descriptionAnimation should be smooth if possible.

I have this on one of my to do lists at low priority. I believe it will be a fairly straightforward application of the settings-animated-pages element but I'll look more closely once dogfood blockers are done.

@khorimoto: Can you provide a screencast? It is hard to tell from this description if you are describing a known issue or a new one. Also, does this refer to Setings? If so please add UI>Settings component.

Attached a screencast and added the UI>Settings component.

Thanks for the screencast. So after looking at it, the animation issue is just a symptom of how the dialog is actually triggered. You are basically making a navigation from whatever URL the "Pixel XL" subpage has to chrome://settings/lockScreen, so the "Screen lock" subpage is opened, and then the dialog that lives within the subpage is shown. I don't think there is any way to fix this animation while reusing the same dialog instance. You either have to live with this subpage transition, or you would need to host your own unlock dialog instance within the "Pixel XL" subpage.

This is no longer applicable because: (1) We use our own Smart Lock settings page (instead of the lock screen). (2) Settings page transition animations are now gone (see issue 907333 ). |
