iOS: tapping arrows next to URL suggestions does not behave as expected

Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: Make sure you are already on a website, this isn't an issue if you start from the new tab page. Now tap the URL bar, you will see a list of websites you frequently visit, tap the arrow next to any of them. It should 'throw' (apologies if that's not the correct term) that URL into the address bar, replacing the URL of the website you are currently on. On iOS, it does not do this when I tap the arrow, tapping the arrow doesn't seem to do anything. What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? Try the same thing on Android to see the correct behavior Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 68.0.3440.70 Channel: stable OS Version: 11.4 Flash Version:

It seems like on M68 tapping on the append arrows doesn't exit pre-edit. This is not reproducible on the latest beta or canary. I can reproduce on M68 (release), and sure enough the appending actually happens but is obscured by the pre-edit label. Tapping on the fake selection reveals the actual textfield with the appended query. I don't think this is serious enough to justify a 68 respin, therefore I consider this closed. |
