Issue descriptionChrome Version: <69.0.3464.0> Chrome OS Version: <10799.0.2018_06_19_1616> Chrome OS Platform: <GOOGLE-EVE> Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add the label below). Cr-OS-Installer Steps To Reproduce: (1) Attempt to emerge-eve media-libs/fontconfig on Eve. Expected Result: Fontconfig compiles and successfully emerges. What happens instead of that? Fontconfig emerge fails at fetch stage with the error: !!! Fetched file: fontconfig-2.13.0.tar.bz2 VERIFY FAILED! !!! Reason: Insufficient data for checksum verification !!! Got: !!! Expected: MD5 RMD160 SHA1 SHA256 SHA512 WHIRLPOOL

this is a bug in the package, not the build system yes, CL:1153729 is one way to fix it. but you need to check with the package maintainer (jshin@) before moving forward.

fontconfig 2.13 ebuild file was checked in but masked. https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromiumos/overlays/chromiumos-overlay/+/1065214/4/media-libs/fontconfig/fontconfig-2.13.0-r4.ebuild Has it been unmasked? https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromiumos/overlays/chromiumos-overlay/+/1066797 is a CL (still WiP) to update fontconfig to 2.13.0.

Aha ... vmreyes@ updated https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromiumos/overlays/chromiumos-overlay/+/1066797 a few times recently. Hmm, but there's no difference between my last patchset (PS #4) and your last PS (PS #10). https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromiumos/overlays/chromiumos-overlay/+/1066797/4..10 I'm sorry that I didn't get the above CL through (before changing focuses). IIRC, I'm almost done but haven't had a chance to test it on a device or two. If you take over the CL and finish up (manifest editing can be added to the above CL), that will be great. Otherwise, I'll try to tie loose ends myself.

fontconfig was updated to 2.13. This is obsolete.
