Looks quite alike to Issue 859047 , but needs more investigation before closing as duplicated.

I could not reproduce this at 70.0.3505.0 (Platform 10926.0.0-18.07.31) on caroline. The option could be successfully turned on and off. So I am suspecting this could be specific to certain devices. (note: the shelf was invisible at the first screen of OOBE, but we can still show uber tray by clicking bottom right of the screen.)

Please verify if this is still happening with latest build. Expected behavior is that, when user click "Dictation" menu, a confirmation dialog like this should show up. The feature should be turned on only after user accept it. Dictation Dictation sends your voice to Google to allow voice typing in any text field. [Continue] [Cancel]

Thanks for checking. We think this has been same issue as 859047, although not 100% confident. |
