Tab Grid - No Snapshot Youtube |

Issue descriptionNo snapshot for a YouTube page in the Tab Grid. Seems to be due to the video player on the page, however even when scrolling until the player becomes invisible, no snapshot is taken for the Tab Grid tile.

I believe this is a known issue with our current snapshotting approach.

Hmm. Is that the same issue? Also, comparing with the behavior today on Stable, I notice that for YouTube we don't indeed don't capture the screenshot, but we don't show a blank screen. We show a thumbnail of YouTube's homepage irrespective of the video being watched. Is that special-cased?

This is not special-cased. The thumbnail of YT's homepage is coincidentally the last snapshot that was successfully taken. In Stable, stale snapshots were shown in tab switcher if a new snapshot of the current page was not able to be taken. In today's build, we do not allow stale snapshots because they may be contradictory to the current page. |
