Cant not conect to Chromecast Device

Reported by p...@nubiola.cat, Jul 22

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.87 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Clic to menu / Cast ...
2. A window opens, with the title 'Cast to' and the message 'No Cast destinations found. Need help '(this last afternoon a little)

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
When Chromium searches for the chromecast, it does not detect any of them even though there is one on the local network.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 67.0.3396.87 Channel: n/a
OS Version: Debian Sid
Flash Version:

The VLC media player detects it smoothly, and so does Chrome, running on a Windows with virttualbox.

Thanks for filing the issue!

As we do not have Chromecast device to check and confirm the issue, adding label "TE-Hardware-Dependency" and requesting some one from respective team to have a look into it and help in further triaging it.
Note: Tentatively adding component "Internals>Cast" please change if this isn't apt.

Hi,

By default, Chromium does not load the Media Router component extension, which is needed to discover devices. To enable the extension, go to chrome://flags and enable the load-media-router-component-extension flag and restart the browser. If this still does not work, please report back and we will investigate further. Thanks!
Is that still true on M67 (discovery no longer requires the component as of M64)?
Hi,
It works OK

Tanks very much

Re comment 5: sink query still happens in the extension by default. The {Dial,Cast}MediaRouteProvider features enable querying in the browser but other features of the MRP are still being implemented.
