Chrome Android is showing user account picker when we do not expect to see this |
||||
Issue descriptionDevice name: Pixel 2 Application version: 67.0.3396.87 Operating system: 8.1.0 Steps to reproduce: This is tricky to explain and more details will come in a separate email that is on its way, but essentially we are supporting attendees for Next '18 via an Android app. These users have accounts (via Firebase) that they provide at registration. The feature we have implemented is to include Dory integration in our app. For this, we create temporary accounts (in Gsuite) such that are then to automatically log them into Dory. The intent is that users going into Dory are authenticated with this temporary account without having to sign in. All they should see are some Terms of Service prompts. On Android devices, what we see is that if there is a user already signed into the Chrome app, that when we launch the webview from the app that it goes directly to an account picker screen. On desktop browsers and on iOS, the functionality works and no account picker is displayed and they go directly into Dory. Observed behavior: Account picker is displayed when a user is signed into Dory. Expected behavior: No account picker should be displayed.

Thank you for responding. We went a different route and no longer need this fix. We have also received information that this behavior is as designed, hence why we are going with an alternate approach. The issue can be closed.
