Opening a new tab and typing text sometimes disappears

Project Member Reported by chrishtr@chromium.org, Jul 21

Issue description

Chrome Version : 69.0.3486.0
OS Version: OS X 10.13.6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a new tab with cmd-t
2. Quickly type some text
3. Wait a moment

What is the expected result?

Text appears and stays. :)

What happens instead of that?

Sometimes the text is cleared out. Sometimes not. There is some sort of race condition.

UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3486.0 Safari/537.36

I think this is a new bug in the anniversary refresh.

Is this reproducible also with another Chrome profile? Can you please attach a screencast of this issue?

Thanks :)
