Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.99 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: Make an extension which performs some alteration to audio streams, like an equalizer. What is the expected behavior? Extension requires minimal permissions, like a permission just for altering audio/video/multimedia streams. What went wrong? Extension requires "change all data" permission, even though the extension doesn't need NEARLY that much access. WebStore page: Did this work before? No Chrome version: 67.0.3396.99 Channel: stable OS Version: Fedora 28 Flash Version:

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 67.0.3396.99 using Ubuntu 17.10. Steps: --------- 1. Launched reported chrome 2. Navigated to given URL's and enabled all extensions as per comment #3 As we are not seen "Extension requires "change all data" permission" @Reporter: Request you to retry this issue with fresh profile without any extensions/apps or reset all the flags and Could you please upgrade to latest chrome stable 68.0.3440.75, you can download latest chrome builds here:" https://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel " and let us know if issue still persists. I tried with both a brand new profile and with experiments disabled, and with both I got "It can read and change all your data on the websites you visit" when clicking on "add to Chrome". However, I only clicked the "add to Chrome" button on the Chrome Web Store page to get that message and then canceled without actually installing any of the extensions, rather than installing them and looking up the requested permissions by clicking on the extension's "details" button on the chrome://extensions/ page

Able to reproduce the issue on 60.0.3072.0(M-60),reported version 67.0.3396.99 and latest chrome 70.3508.0 on Ubuntu 17.10. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M60 old builds. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!! |
