Ctrl+C from Omnibox is bugged on websites starting with www.

Reported by tnicko...@gmail.com, Jul 20

Issue description

Chrome Version : 67.0.3396.99
OS Version: 10.0
URLs (if applicable) : https://www.espon.eu/ (and any other starting with www.
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari:
    Firefox:OK
    IE/Edge:OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open a website that starts with www.
2. single click on the Omnibox (or F6) and copy the URL with "ctrl+C"
3. Paste the URL in new tab

What is the expected result?
Expected result is the URL to start with http(s)://www.

What happens instead of that?
the URL starts with http(s)://sitename.org (no www in front)

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
About a month ago you introduced new Omnibox UI setting that is hiding the www. from the taskbar, now the copy function (due to neglecting or bug) copies the URL without the www in front.

Because of that if you copy the url from the opened website (like with https://www.espon.eu.) and make a link from your website to it, the link will be broken. (https://www.espon.eu/ have not set redirect from the non www version to the www one)

Asked around for this problem it seems not everyone has it. Also disabling the new Omnibox UI fixes the problem (www. is no longer hidden)

Thanks for the report.

We've made a number of improvements to this feature recently. Can you try installing Chrome Canary temporarily and see if it's a problem for you here?
