Unable to open menus in multiple Linux apps

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 10820.0.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3473.0 Safari/537.36
Platform: 10820.0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel eve

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install Linux apps(beta) from Settings
2. Install VS Code or Atom editor (latest stable versions)
3. Open an app
4. Try to open any of the menus

What is the expected behavior?
Menus stay open long enough to use them

What went wrong?
On the first click the menus flashes quickly and disappears. Subsequent clicks flash the app window and do nothing.

Did this work before? Yes Dev channel version around Jun 10th (that's when I last tried the dev channel)

Chrome version: 69.0.3473.0  Channel: dev
OS Version: 10820.0.0
Flash Version: 30.0.0.127

Keyboard shortcuts seem to work mostly (ctrl+n, cttl+o etc)

I also tried some of tips for earlier reported similar issues:
- Tried disabling the "Enable display zoom settings" from chrome://flags
- Tried multiple different resolutions and zoom settings in Settings
- Also tried the beta releases of VS Code and Atom

None of the above changed the situation

Updating to 69.0.3494.0 / 10888.0 fixed this issue for me
