Custom protocol url being swallowed in case of multiple requests fired inside of single tab

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.99 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. make sure you have configured mail client that handles mailto: (can be other application and other custom protocol but I replaced my own one with mailto: as mail client is installed on most machines)
2. open attached html file
*. you can try Firefox as well, I used it to check if it can work anywhere else

What is the expected behavior?
Email client should be launched and all mailto: links should be handled.

What went wrong?
Only couple of mailto: links are handled.

Did this work before? N/A 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 67.0.3396.99  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.6

Thanks, but 859002 is the issue as in my case there is no need to wait any times and it doesn't reproduce when you opening new tabs (new tabs is the case for 859002). Also my issue is specifically connected with case of opening _multiple_ custom protocol urls in the _same_ tab. So I would propose to treat issues as separate ones.

Adding to reason for this being different issue: ticket you linked this with tells that it either will open and work or won't and will fail but this one will call external applications 1 to 3 times for sure and will stop doing it after, that shows nature of randomness here.

Basing on all stated above please unduplicated it.

The issue still exist in chrome. Is there any workaround for this issue?.
