Network inspector > Initiator > backtrace: file opened in new tab instead of Sources panel

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.99 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a new window
2. Open developer tools
3. Open the Sources panel
4. Open the XHR/fetch breakpoints panel
5. Add a new breakpoint with the string "object"
6. Open the Network panel
7. Click Preserve log
8. Go to https://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/world-cup-2018-england-vs-croatia-live/[object
9. Open the Network panel (again)
10. Hover over /_static/_??-… in the Initiator column [see image-1.png]
11. Click on the top line in the stack trace

What is the expected behavior?
JavaScript opens in Sources panel

What went wrong?
JavaScript opens in new browser tab [see image-2.png]

Did this work before? N/A

Unable to reproduce the issue on mac 10.13.3 using chrome reported version #67.0.3396.99 and latest canary #69.0.3493.0.

Attached a screen shot for reference.

Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue.
------------
1. Opened a new window
2. Opened developer tools
3. Opened the Sources panel
4. Opened the XHR/fetch breakpoints panel
5. Added a new breakpoint with the string "object"
6. Opened the Network panel
7. Clicked Preserve log
8. Navigated to https://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/world-cup-2018-england-vs-croatia-live/[object
9. Opened the Network panel (again)
10. Hovered over /_static/_??-… in the Initiator column [see image-1.png]
11. Clicked on the top line in the stack trace.
12. Observed that javaScript opened in Sources panel as expected.

paulschreiber@ - Could you please check the issue on latest canary #69.0.3493.0 by creating a new profile without any apps and extensions and please let us know if the issue still persist or not.

Thanks for the report, I can reproduce this on 70.0.3523.0 as well.  From the video, it seems that the asset that is clicked was loaded before the page was navigated, in which case this is working as intended.

In this case, the asset that is linked "/_static..." was loaded when the URL was "https://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/world-cup-2018-england-vs-croatia-live/".  After navigating to the new URL (with "[object"), all entries in the Network panel remains due to 'Preserve log', but the old sources are not kept after on navigation, so it is unable to open within DevTools.
