macOS: Hit space key twice puts U+002E

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.99 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. create a span with contenteditable="true" 2. edit the content of the span end insert multiple (3-4) spaces. A dot character will appear. Like this: https://jsfiddle.net/6utws3kq/2/ What is the expected behavior? The dot character should not appear. What went wrong? I hit space but the dot character appeared. Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 67.0.3396.99 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.12.6 Flash Version: It's worked on Firefox.

Route to paint-dev@, it seems this is caused by paint invalidation.

Mark WontFix, since this is macOS feature. If you don't like this behavior, please uncheck "Add period with double-space" in "Keyboard" control panel. This can be happened in <input> and <textarea> in addition to content editable. |
