Issue descriptionApp Version: 69.0.3847.0 canary iOS Version: 11.4.1 Device: iPhone X only URL: rediff.com Steps to reproduce: 1. Open chrome canary 2. Scroll up the NTP. 3. (Perform these steps with rigor) Long press on any of the context suggestions --> Open in New Tab 4. Tap on Tab switcher button. Observed results: Notice that switching into tab switcher mode is not smooth Expected results: Switching into tab switcher mode should be smooth. Number of times you were able to reproduce: 4/5 Bug reproducible after clean install: Yes Bug reproducible after clearing cache and cookies: Yes Bug reproducible on Chrome Mobile on Android: NA Bug reproducible on Safari/Firefox: Firefox: NA, Safari: NA Bug reproducible on current stable build (App Version, iOS Version): NA on M67 Bug reproducible on the current beta channel build (App Version, iOS Version): NA on M68 Type-bug-regression? I can't repro on 70.0.3516.0, especially with the updated "open in new tab" animation. vbarigela@ can you verify that this is no longer an issue?

Checked on latest chrome canary version 70.0.3521.0 and chrome beta version 69.0.3497.38. Animation is smooth while switching to tab switcher mode. Looks good.
