Feature Request: Triple Clicking Selects newline

Reported by naresh.k...@pearson.com, Jul 10

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.181 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to any web page select paragraph having more than one word
2. Copy a line of code by triple clicking it
3. Paste the line into a text editor

What is the expected behavior?
Just the text that was selected is pasted.

What went wrong?
The text AND a newline is pasted.

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

Chrome version: 66.0.3359.181 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

This is very annoying when copying and pasting anything, but especially annoying when copying text into a terminal. Firefox never copies the newline when triple clicking a line, instead selecting the text on the line with additional space.

This happens for me as well on Chrome. Over to the Editing team to comment if this is WAI. The issue is that there is a new line character that is copied as well; reporter is indicating it shouldn't contain the new line character.

Firefox and Edge both behave the way the reporter wants.

Summary: Feature Request: Triple Clicking Selects newline (was: Triple Clicking Selects newline)
It seems triple-click, aka select paragraph around click, selects characters until newline inclusive.

It seems it is better to exclude at end of paragraph.
