swathisri.kondagari@ Thanks for the issue. Tested this issue on Mac OS 10.13.3 on the latest Stable 67.0.3396.99 and the latest Canary 69.0.3486.0 by following the below steps. 1. Launched Chrome and navigated to the above given JSfiddle. 2. Opened Devtools -> Console and in the Text box of Fiddle entered the text 'Ctrl+F6'. 3. Few keydown events are printed in the console. The same behavior is observed in M-65 chrome builds. Attached are the screen shots for reference. Request you to check and confirm if anything is missed from our end in triaging the issue. Also request you to provide a screen cast of the steps followed to reproduce the issue and issue observed, which will help in further triaging. Thanks..

The issue can be seen by just pressing Keys "Ctrl" followed by "F6" within the textbox.

I believe Mac by default has Ctrl+F6 captures as a shortcut. Make sure to remove that and then it should work.

Thanks for the response. However, Ctrl + F6 works in Safari and in firefox on a Mac. It also used to work in Chrome in the previous versions (unfortunately, I cant recall the exact version number but I can dig further if need arises). Is this something that is recently changed in newer versions of chrome for any reason? I agree that Mac by default might have a shortcut for Ctrl + F6, however, generally there are many shortcuts like Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + S that both browser and OS share. Just wanted to understand if there was any specific reason for chrome to not allow it since its a Mac OS shortcut or could this indeed be considered as a bug? |
