DevTools log does not clear on reload

Reported by jeff.han...@taxfyle.com, Jul 9

Issue description

Chrome Version : 67.0.3396.99
OS Version: OS X 10.13.5

Reproduction:

I am unable to reproduce it anywhere else.

Expected:

The log should clear when reloading the page when the "Preserve log" option is Off.

What really happens:

The log persists. Only difference between "Preserve log" On vs Off is an additional log entry detailing the navigation is logged when On.

UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.99 Safari/537.36

Repro URL: https://github.com/404 i guess?

I can't reproduce this. I also always get a "Navigated to https://github.com/404" message, which you don't get.

Jeff, can you reproduce this in Chrome Canary?

+luoe, for FYI.
It works fine in Canary.

I also tested in Incognito (stable), that didn't fix it either.

Thanks for the report, it looks like a duplicate of crbug.com/836390 which was closed because we were not able to reproduce this. Others reported that Adblock Plus was required for repro, which might explain why it can occur when enabled in Incognito.

Could you please check:
- Does the Network panel also preserve its log when reloading?
- Could you check DevTools on DevTools to see if there are errors? ( http://stackoverflow.com/a/12291163/89484 )

I just tried disabling AdBlock in Incognito (disallowing it in Incognito, disabling through AdBlock is not enough) and that works!

I've attached a screenshot of the logs from DinD, these are thrown when reloading.

Oh, and Network Panel clears as it should, no issue there.

@Reporter: As per comment# 6 & 7, it seems like issue is no more seen. Could you please provide your confirmation on closing this issue.

Thanks!
The problem persists if AdBlock is enabled, except in Canary, but I don't know if logging in with my Google login which syncs my extensions sets up AdBlock in the exact same way it was in Stable.

Was this bug specifically addressed in a Canary build? If so, then I guess we can close.

In an offline chat w/ another engineer, the code surrounding this bug (SourceMapManager) had significant parts rewritten recently (this year).

I cannot reproduce this locally, but since you are not able to reproduce w/ Adblock + Canary, I'll close this for now.

Thanks for the help
