Issue descriptionChrome Version : 67.0.3396.99 (official version) (64 bit) URLs (if applicable) : OS version : 10.13.2/10.13.3/10.13.5 Behavior in Safari (if applicable): Behavior in Firefox (if applicable): What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) use chrome, and website can upload file. (2) upload file in choose. (3) chrome this not't work.(DOS) What is the expected result? This chrome application exit. What happens instead? Crash // The system MacOS TextEdit opens a file containing more than 3 BOM headers, causing Crash, and the Mac chrome preview also calls the system's preview mode, so follow the crash For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu page at the end of this report.

sevcks@ - Thanks for filing the issue...!! Could you please provide a sample test file/url to test the issue from TE-end. Also please provide clear repro steps which led to crash. If possible provide the crash id from chrome://crashes. This will help us in triaging the issue further. Thanks...!!

The attachment is this file, you only need to extract it to get it. On any website upload, selecting this file chrome will crash.

That crash is missing all kinds of product data, which is very weird. I do note that the report is from 10.13.2, so it's possible that the issue has been fixed in a macOS update.

If this was reported to Apple and they acknowledged it as their bug, then I think we should just close this as WontFix or ExternalDependency.

This sounds like an Apple bug, and perhaps a radar has been filed to fix? And it sounds like WeChat is working around this by not calling out to mac preview. I don't think we have any intentions to change our current behavior to work around an Apple Bug. |
