background-color is not rendered correctly

Reported by kdub...@mozilla.com, Jul 3

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0

Example URL:
http://www.88beta.com/

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. data:text/html,<!doctype html><html><title>yellow</title><body><p style="height: 100vh;background-color:%23fde90e; "></p></body></html>
2. Open this reduced test case in Chrome,
3. then in Firefox.

What is the expected behavior?
Same yellow.

What went wrong?
The yellow in the two browsers is different.

The specified color is 	background-color: #fde90e;

With a macos color picker
so on chrome, we get 250 234 80 -> #FAEA50
on firefox we get 253 233 14 -> #FDE90E

This is part of a webcompat report

The most likely cause of this is color correction now done by Chrome. Do you have any color profile installed? What happens if you "Force Color Profile" to sRGB in chrome://flags?

Closing due to lack of feedback. Specifically, the request to check for a color profile or disable color correction. Re-open if feedback becomes available.
(sorry for the late reply - holiday time)
re-tested in Chrome Canary Version 70.0.3503.0 (Build officiel) canary (64 bits)

The current setting for
    chrome://flags/#force-color-profile
is
    Default

> Force color profile
> Forces Chrome to use a specific color profile instead of the color of the window's current monitor, as specified by the operating system. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android
>
> #force-color-profile

if I set to both sRGB or scRGB linear (and check after relaunch), the issue is **still the same**. The color profile doesn't fix it.

I'll try to verify this one.

We do indeed get a significant difference in the blue channel. Not exactly as reported, but still very different comparing Firefox and Chrome.

ccameron@, is there some obvious explanation for this that I am overlooking? Assign back to me if the cause is non-apparent.
