Pixelbook restarts when running linux on developer channel after OS update

Reported by gustavog...@gmail.com, Jul 3

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 10820.0.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3473.0 Safari/537.36
Platform: 10820.0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel eve

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Upgrade to 69.0.3473.0 (10820.0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel eve)
2. Open IntelliJ idea community edition
3. Type System.out.printl

What is the expected behavior?
System should not crash

What went wrong?
When I type Sy on step to reproduce #3 the screen goes black for a couple seconds, then a chrome window and a terminal open.

Did this work before? Yes I didn't note the previous version, but it was the original version on my pixelbook.

Chrome version: 69.0.3473.0 Channel: dev
OS Version: 10820.0.0
Flash Version: 30.0.0.127

I've enabled linux (beta) and had been running Atom and IntelliJ idea community edition for a couple weeks without a problem.
A couple days ago I updated to 69.0.3473.0 (10820.0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel eve) and now my pixelbook restarts randomly when I'm using IntelliJ. After it restarts, I try to start IntelliJ again with no luck. I'm forced to shutdown and start it again.
