This is being tracked internally as b/110176499. We believe this issue is specific to Samsung Chromebook Plus (Kevin) Chromebooks running M67 or later. The issue prevents Android apps from rendering graphics or text layers properly on these devices.

It kind of isn't just that model. My Veyron_Minnie from 2015 running chrome Ver. 68 on the stable channel is having trouble not only loading text, but loading multiple other elements, such as buttons or textures. Pic. 1 - what it's supposed to be Pic. 2 - what it is on my Chromebook

bloonstowerdefensezach@gmail.com, the issue we are tracking on Samsung Chromebook Plus (Kevin) with this bug is that multiple apps are missing text or graphics layers, but these same apps work properly on other Chromebooks running the same build. On other Chromebooks, some Android apps are missing text or graphics layers, but depending on the issue, they may require changes from the app developer. I am not seeing any feedback reports from users about missing text from Veyron_Minnie over the last 14 days. If you're still having this issue, please use Alt-Shift-i to send us feedback report with the name of the app experiencing the issues, so we can look at the logs and escalate to the app developer if necessary.

I too am having this issue still even after the most recent update to my Samsung Chromebook Plus to version: 68.0.3440.87. Apps remain with graphics or text layer missing displaying a blank black screen. This continues to be a big issue for other Samsung Chromebook Plus owners as well that I know personally. Two other applications this can be seen in is Project Highrise and DME Live 2.0. In addition Plague Inc. experiences the same issue here as well.

I have a Samsung Chromebook. Games (Room Old Sins, House of DaVinci, and Games of Thrones, ALL worked great for months after download and then something happened - maybe with an update but as reported from hundreds of Cbook users, text is missing. I have not received any updates on my submitted 'help' posts. I reach out to the game developers and they tell me it's Chrome related. Hi Vicki, No need to reinstall. If you update to the Beta channel, you'll have the fix right now. Otherwise, wait until it pushes to Stable, I guess.

I see that it is fixed on the developer channel (70.0.3524.2 dev (32-bit)) - Thanks! However, it's not currently on the beta channel (69.0.3497.35 beta (32-bit)), which I'm guessing will take some time for it to get to 69.0.3497.58 (ie, >= .58, not .35) Any ideas how long this fix will take to get to the stable channel? Hate to have to echo others on Samsung Chromebook. Updated to Version 68.0.3440.118 (Official Build) (32-bit) AND initial issue still exists (NO TEXT ON GAMES). And as of 69.0.3497.87, the bug is BACK. Whatever fix existed in 3497.58, it's been reverted.

This has also been affecting my Asus Chromebook Flip, running 32-bit stable channel releases, for several months. An easy test is the app Dumb Ways to Die Original. It impacts most apps with layered graphical content, specifically the text layer, and began immediately following an OS update.

FIXED WITH RECENT UPDATE: Version 70.0.3538.34 :) :) :) :) HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.......Thank you Chrome Developers for working very hard for MANY months to fix the issue of 'no text' on certain games downloaded from ChromePlayStore. I am extremely HAPPY to report that the previously affected games are NOW working as they did when initially downloaded months ago. You have made me a very happy ChromeBook user.
