A11y: Arc++ unable to enter text into bookshare's Go Read app

Project Member Reported by dsexton@chromium.org, Jul 2

Issue description

Chrome: 69.0.3476.0 Canary

Steps to repro:
# Install Go Read by bookshare from the play store
# With ChromeVox running, open Go Read
# If you are not presented with a sign-in screen, navigate to the menu, activate it and choose search for books from the menu
# At the sign-in screen, press search+right arrow to navigate to the username/email field, if it is not active, press search+space
# Type into this field

Expected: Text typed appears in the field

Actual: Typing 'd' or 'a' and possibly other letters seems to spell out text in the window and nothing appears in the edit box.

As FYI, I believe keyboard input is generally broken across ARC++ at the moment. For example, tabbing, pressing arrow keys should move focus around the app.
Thank you for the update.

I am able to enter text into the Skype app.

I confirmed this issue. For ARC++ bugs, would you mind checking with TalkBack as ewll?
Chrome: 70.0.3530.0

With further testing, letters do appear in the box, but Chromevox doesn't read them
As I type, chromevox spells out 'book share' 'b o o k space s h a r e, end of text', but I am able to enter my email and sign in.

Tabbing away and shift tabbing does not speak the entered text, nor does navigating with search+left and right arrows.
