Issue descriptionChrome Version: 67.0.3396.62 (Official Build) (64-bit) OS: macOS 10.13.4 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Leave a tab open to Google Calendar on a Mac laptop for a long period of time, including across sleep/wake cycles. (2) Create a new calendar appointment. (3) Start typing into the Location field. What is the expected result? Expect location to autocomplete. What happens instead? Hundreds of errors are logged to the console claiming that the network has been disconnected. Frequently QUIC errors will be reported too. At the end of this report is an excerpt of the console logs from one session. Attached are chrome://net-export logs (with PII filtered out) from when this just happened in my browser session. This is not a new regression; I've noticed it for at least a couple of months. Apologies for not reporting it earlier. I frequently leave my browser session open for a week at a time at least. This happens very frequently and is a major source of annoyance. Reloading the page solves the problem. When it happens it's necessary to save the event, reload Calendar, and then finish editing the event. I suspect that Calendar is attempting to establish a new HTTPS connection for these location autocompletions rather than reusing an existing long-established socket and that this is a bug in the browser's network stack rather than Calendar itself. Marking this bug with Network and SiteIsolation components because it seems it might be related to both. Marking P1 because this affects a major application and should at least be triaged quickly. Have turned off QUIC in my personal browser instances. It usually takes a few days for this to reproduce so I'll follow up if it does.

This happened again with QUIC disabled via about:flags. Here are the console logs. I note that Google Maps seems to have retired the version which was loaded into the Calendar instance. What other information can I gather which will help with a diagnosis? Note the issue is scoped to the specific renderer process running Calendar and its state. Opening Calendar again in a new tab, or refreshing the tab, works around the problem. This is still a pain when in the middle of editing a new Calendar invitation and discovering that you can't enter a location.

Thanks for collecting more data! Since this reprod with QUIC disabled, I think we can rule that out as a cause. (Yay for me, but that doesn't really help you :/) Do you have a net-internals for this case? (i'm guessing not)

I don't yet. It looks like the renderer process recovered after a suspend/resume cycle. Could you please tell me exactly what logs you need when this happens again? I don't see how to save the state from chrome://net-internals. Do you mean a chrome://net-export log?

Yes, chrome://net-export is the new way to export net-internals logs. I didn't see anything too unusual in the first log, but a bunch of requests were missing there which were in the console log (almost all the errored ones). Because this seems related to renderer state, I'm going to add the loader component. I was also just able to repro this on my current Linux workstation which has had a calendar tab opened for a while. I can try to debug during my current triage shift.

Hm I did not see any INTERNET_DISCONNECTED errors which makes me think that that's a red herring. My repro is just showing 403 errors from the maps API endpoint. The requests have basically the same exact request headers, so my hunch is that this is a calendar/maps bug. It looks like the actual error is NotLoadingAPIFromGoogleMapError: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages "The Maps JavaScript API must be downloaded directly from Google's servers." I can file an internal bug.

But, in your case you are probably subject to an Enterprise Policy which forces isolation of some origins on top of the public field trials (and [as an enterprise policy] is not [easily] overridable by the end user]). So: 1. You can either A) use a machine that is not subject to enterprise policy (verify by looking at chrome://policy and verifying that IsolateOrigins policy is missing or empty) and B) disable OOPIFs via chrome://flags/#site-isolation-trial-opt-out or 2. You can disable OOPIFs by following the steps from http://go/site-isolation-diagnose

The internal bug ID is 111405434. This is happening on my personal Mac laptop too which isn't subject to the enterprise policy. I've opted out of chrome://flags/#site-isolation-trial-opt-out and will update this bug if I see it in the Calendar instance on that machine.

I suspect the INTERNET_DISCONNECTED errors are a separate issue from the 403 errors. At least in the latter case, there's a good chance that this is a Maps bug with how they detect validity of their JS bundle. I suspect the INTERNET_DISCONNECTED errors are exactly what they appear, and are a result of maps trying to fetch resources at the beginning of a wake cycle, while the network is still coming back up.

When this happens, the machine's been resumed for a significant time, and other renderer processes are able to browse pages successfully. The renderer associated with the Calendar tab reports these errors in the console. Reloading Calendar makes it start behaving correctly.
