auron_paine, link, peppy: audio_InternalCardNode failed by jack plugger settings

Project Member Reported by paulhsia@chromium.org, Jun 29 2018

Issue description

The test keep failing on auron_paine, link and peppy:

[Problem 1]
auron_paine (chromeos15-audiobox4-host1):
https://stainless.corp.google.com/search?exclude_cts=true&exclude_non_release=true&board=%5Eauron%5C_paine%24&test=%5Eaudio%5C_InternalCardNodes%24&view=matrix&col=build&row=board_model&first_date=2018-06-23&last_date=2018-06-29

link (chromeos15-audiobox4-host2):
https://stainless.corp.google.com/search?view=matrix&row=board_model&col=build&first_date=2018-06-23&last_date=2018-06-29&test=%5Eaudio%5C_InternalCardNodes%24&board=%5Elink%24&exclude_cts=true&exclude_not_run=false&exclude_non_release=true&exclude_au=true&exclude_acts=true&exclude_retried=true&exclude_non_production=false

The hosts chromeos15-audiobox4-host2 and chromeos15-audiobox4-host1
both can't detect HEADPHONE after I plugged in jack by executing command from chameleon.
[Action 1]
Need to check the physical position of DUTs and jack plugger and make sure chrome os can detect jack after plugging it in.

[Problem 2]
peppy (chromeos15-audiobox2-host2):
https://stainless.corp.google.com/search?view=matrix&row=board_model&col=build&first_date=2018-06-23&last_date=2018-06-29&test=%5Eaudio%5C_InternalCardNodes%24&board=%5Epeppy%24&exclude_cts=true&exclude_not_run=false&exclude_non_release=true&exclude_au=true&exclude_acts=true&exclude_retried=true&exclude_non_production=false

And the host chromeos15-audiobox2-host2	will fail if we execute the command from chameleon. Here are the error message:
Fault: <Fault 1: "<class 'chameleond.devices.audio_board._JackPluggerException'>:Can not get motor status">

[Action 2]
Need to check the wire connection between chameleon and jack-plugger motor.

Hi kalin,

We need someone to check the physical setting for those DUTs listed above.
Thanks!

Thanks paulhsia@ for reporting this issue. I'll try to check on this before the weekend ends.
Summary: auron_paine, link, peppy: audio_InternalCardNode failed by jack plugger settings (was: auron_paine, link: audio_InternalCardNode failed by jack plugger settings)
Cc: ka...@chromium.org
Issue 845782 has been merged into this issue.
1) auron_paine at chromeos15-audiobox4-host1
- the TRRS jack tip is mechanically deformed
- new cable jack did not make the device show the new nodes either
Will check on the auron_paine DUT port and update later.

2) link at chromeos15-audiobox4-host2
Moved the plugger little closer to DUT. It works now.
Regarding 1) - the DUT will be swapped with one of the DUTs in chromeos2- lab which is not running audiojack tests.
Hi Kalin,

Any update for peppy (chromeos15-audiobox2-host2) in [problem 2]?
Thanks!
Somehow I missed chromeos15-audiobox2-host2. We'll check on it today and report back here.
chromeos15-audiobox2-host2 audio box jack plugger is working fine after power off and on.

Hi Kalin,

chromeos15-audiobox2-host2 is keep failing with the following message now again:

Fault: <Fault 1: "<class 'chameleond.devices.audio_board._JackPluggerException'>:Can not get motor status">

(https://stainless.corp.google.com/search?exclude_cts=true&exclude_non_release=true&board=%5Epeppy%24&test=%5Eaudio%5C_InternalCardNodes%24&view=matrix&col=build&row=board_model&first_date=2018-07-03&last_date=2018-07-09)

Need to check the wire connection between chameleon and jack-plugger motor.
Thanks!
Right, we'll check the wire and connections. What worries me is the fact it worked after rebooting the plugger controller(c#8), and then started failing again.
I see. If the test keep failing after checking the wire and connections, maybe there are some problem with the plugger controller.
We should switch it with a new one at that time?
