Issue descriptionExample URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. On android devices install chrome 2. Visit any url ending with.au 3. It shows the sugestions of music apps to launch the app with. Even for html Pages. What is the expected behavior? It should check the header signature for file and show the page as web page. Same with othe media format mp4, mp3 or pdf etc. What went wrong? Instead of checking header signature its checking for extension of file. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 67.0.3396.87 Channel: n/a OS Version: 7.0 Flash Version:

Tested the issue on Android and able to reproduce the issue. Steps followed: 1.Launch chrome 2.Navigate to https://www.mayurjangale.com/xxxxxxxx.au 3.Observed that it downloads as media file even for html Pages. Chrome versions tested: 60.0.3072.0, 67.0.3396.87(Stable), 69.0.3480.2(Canary) OS: Android 7 Android Devices: Samsung J7 This seems to be a Non-Regression issue as same behavior is seen since M-60. Leaving the issue as Untriaged for further input's on this issue. Please navigate to below link for log's -- go/chrome-androidlogs/856457 Thanks!

I don't think this is a bug in Chrome -- any Android app can declare to handle *.au, and that includes URLs that end in .au. The first time you navigate to such a URL, you should get a prompt asking you with which app to open the URL; there you can choose to always use Chrome. |
