Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. On android devices install chrome
2. Visit any url ending with.au

Thank you for reporting the problem to us.

I tried to reproduce but no succeeded. Can you share a few URLs you observed the behavior? I tried msn.com.au.

Also is it possible for you to check other phones? It is possible that your phone has some software/settings installed.
msn.com.au is an domain name. Url should be in format like www.xxxxxxx.xxx/xxxx.au

Please try this link on my site developed for description purpose
https://www.mayurjangale.com/xxxxxxxx.au

This page is in html and header is html too but without detecting any header its directly opening the page as media file.

Tested on On Pc and Android.

I don't think this is a bug in Chrome -- any Android app can declare to handle *.au, and that includes URLs that end in .au. The first time you navigate to such a URL, you should get a prompt asking you with which app to open the URL; there you can choose to always use Chrome.
