Chrome OS keyboard shortcut viewer placeholder text moves with focus |

Issue descriptionChrome OS keyboard shortcut viewer placeholder text moves with focus (1) Run Chrome OS (on linux desktop) on ToT / 69.0.3469.0 (2) Launch the keyboard shortcut viewer (Ctrl-Alt-/) (3) Click the placeholder text "Search for keyboard shortcuts". Expected: The placeholder text should disappear or not move... Actual: the placeholder text jumps to the left on focus See the attached screenshots. Tao, can you take a look? Please test RTL UI too.

Hmm, if that's really what we want it's okay, but it seems pretty jarring.

But there is still a bug for RTL. Will fix that one first.

Hi msw@, do you know is there a bug the mus app ignores the RTL flag? Please see the attached image, the title bar is RTL, but the client view is not.

Good catch! That app-only bug does not occur with --disable-features=KeyboardShortcutViewerApp I filed Issue 856341 to support RTL in the app, use the disable flag to test/fix the text for now.

Thanks msw@, for #2, the search box in Launcher has the same behavior: default placeholder is centered, but when clicking the search box, the placeholder is left/right aligned. I will close this bug for now. |
