melodychu@ Thanks for the issue.

Tested this issue on Mac OS 10.13.3 on the reported version 67.0.3396.87 and the latest Canary .0.3472.3 and unable to reproduce the issue.

Cannot observe any grey strip below the omnibox or bookmarks bar on Mac.
Attached is the screen shot for reference.

Can you please confirm if this issue is observed on Mac OS 10.11, which will help in further triaging.

drive-by: if anyone can ask for more information from any of the reporters, try asking what happens:
- if they disable all extensions?
and
- in incognito mode?
