Seen on a Reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/comments/8soxrk/sd_card_folder_timeout_question/):
-------------------------------
Here's the scenario. I use the Files App to navigate to my SD Card. I navigate down a level or two to the subfolder I'm interested in. I click and open the file, often a pdf or a photo. Some time later when I return to the Files App, the folder is no longer open. I am back in the Downloads folder.
I've tried doing research on this, but find no one describing a similar situation. The sd card is not unmounted. I was working on something so the machine never went to sleep. I'm just no longer in the folder I was using, so I have to navigate my way back into the folder I want, which can be tedious for some of my files. The best description I can come up with is that the program seems to be surrendering the file handle.
This seems to be normal for the Files App as it has happened for me now in v65stable thru v68Dev and on a 500e Chromebook, a CN62 Chromebox and a Chromebox G2.
Has anyone found a way to make an sd card folder stay open indefinitely?
Does any one have a better way to describe this? It doesn't seem to be a sleep issue or an unmount issue. It also doesn't seem to happen in the same amount of time. Sometimes the folder seems to have closed fairly quickly. Other times it seems to stay open quite a while.
