Local Storage values not getting displayed in DevTools for other sites

Reported by paras.le...@indiamart.com, Jun 18 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.79 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a webpage www.indiamart.com.
2. Login with mobile number.
3. Search for some products in the bar.
4. Log in again. You can see the recent searches in the bar.

What is the expected behavior?
The recent searches are contained in Local Storage > utils.imimg.com. Refer ss-firefox.png.

What went wrong?
There's no site visible in Local Storage except dir.indiamart.com - the primary page. Refer ss-chrome.png.

Did this work before? Yes 64.0.3282.140

Chrome version: 67.0.3396.79 Channel: stable
OS Version:
Flash Version:

The recent searches can still be seen but the Local Storage is not displaying them. You can write sugg.recent("searches") in the console to display the results too.

I can confirm that I can see other site entries in older versions of chrome or using any other browser (like Mozilla). I tried searching bugs regarding Local Storage and did find many issues with Local Storage. One of them (https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=701413) matched the most with this issue but it was reported in version 57 and I had confirm that the bug is not there in version 64.

See if it's fixed in Chrome Canary, which can be installed separately.

This is likely due to issue 850978 , where local storage was not shown for cross-site iframes when site isolation is on, and which was fixed recently. You can confirm whether this is indeed the case by temporarily switching chrome://flags/#site-isolation-trial-opt-out to "Opt out". For now, I'll go ahead and merge this to 850978, and you can also follow along on issue 844377 , where we're discussing whether to merge the fix to M68.
@alex Confirming issue fixed by opting out of Site isolation.

Thanks a lot. I'll head up to the merged issue now.
