What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Type a paragraph of text.
2. Proof read it and try to edit it mid-paragraph.
3. Decide you want to remove the word, character, space or line break immediately after your current cursor position.
4. Hit the button immediately above the backspace key.

What is the expected result?

The character or line break immediately after the cursor key is removed

What happens instead of that?

A window pops up telling me that I'm logged in as me and the status of my wifi, bluetooth, cast connections and volume. All information I don't need when editing a document.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Every other keyboard I've ever owned has had a delete key, usually immediately above the backspace key.

I know the Pixel has a keyboard shortcut (alt backspace) to perform the function but it shouldn't require a keyboard shortcut. It should be a key! If I want to see the status of my connections, I'll click the relevant button in the system tray - I don't need a button to do that!
