Thanks sontis@ for filing this bug. Can you also check if you can (or not) directly see the USB connected printer in the Print dialog without adding it through settings?

Yes,
For HP OfficeJet 4650 printer I am able to see the USB printer in the Print dialog without adding it through settings.

For Epson XP-430 USB printer is NOT present in the Print dialog.
Observations on today's build 10718.26.0/68.0.3440.25 on Blacktip360 & Nautilus:

1. Able to add Epson XP-430 using USB cable from printer settings.
2. Not able to see the same option from print dialogue

Do we have the PPD for this printer? We don't show printers for which we
don't have a PPD in the print dialog.

Mmmm, I don't think so. So it is intended not to present it in the Print dialog.

So, it seems the issue has resolved on it's own.

per description from sontis@ the problem was that after selecting the USB printer from AddNearbyPrinter box, the Manufacturer/Model box was present and was failing to finally add the printer with 'Can't connect to printer...' error.

Now Manufacturer/Model box is skipped and printer is added successfully. Doesn't this mean PPD is available?

I believe the XP-430 supports IPP-over-USB so it should be working now. valluau@ please reopen if this is not the case.
