History suddenly reloads and scrolls to top while you are browsing it

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.79 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. go to History 2. Enter some filter string in the search box on the top (not sure if needed to reproduce) 3. scroll down so that older entries load, and keep scrolling down and down. From time to time, stop scrolling and just look at the results. Maybe move the mouse cursor around. Then scroll down more, and so on. Just like you are really using it. What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? At random times, suddenly and without reason, the whole history reloads and scrolls all the way up to the fucking top, and what is worse, all the additional entries that had been loaded while scrolling are lost, so you have to scroll down again in baby steps while waiting for the results to load again. That there is no way to go to a given day other than scrolling, waiting and scrolling is already fucking pathetic enough, but I think that's covered in another bug. But that suddenly all your scrolling "work" can get lost and you have to start all over is outrageous. For fuck's sake! Did this work before? Yes probably before the idiotic infinite-scroll was invented Chrome version: 67.0.3396.79 Channel: n/a OS Version: Flash Version:

Tested this on reported chrome version on 67.0.3396.79 using Ubuntu 17.10. Attaching Screen-cast for reference. Steps -------- 1. Launched chrome 2. Navigated to chrome history and scrolled down and up also with some filter string in the search box. We have observed history loading normally. @Reporter: As we are unable to reproduce the issue from our end. Could you please review the attached screen-cast and confirm if anything being missed here. Thanks!

I said "keep scrolling down and down". You just scrolled down a little bit and then up. (also, please review my step 3) Anyway, this is something that happens RANDOMLY and sporadically, I wouldn't expect you to reproduce it in a few seconds. When I observed it I kept scrolling down for several minutes. I sometimes stopped scrolling and then went on scrolling down again. You may also want to try: - opening some of the links in the history in a new tab - switching to some other tab and then coming back to the tab where you have the history open

> - switching to some other tab and then coming back Forgot to mention: wait some time before you come back. I have just tried that and reproduced the issue. I don't know how long you have to wait. I don't know if it's random and whether switching tabs actually increases the probability to reproduce (it seems to). I'm not sure if just staying idle without switching tabs would also trigger the issue.

I can consistenly repro on Chrome OS 69.0.3497.95 (Official Build) beta (64-bit). On my device it doesn't take more than ~30 seconds scrolling downwards before the page reloads. |
