We are not excluding paints outside the viewport. We are collecting FCP at paint. Paint doesn't exclude the paints out of viewport. https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/third_party/blink/renderer/core/html/canvas/html_canvas_element.cc?dr=CSs&g=0&l=720 Nicolas, what's the status of spec? Do we want to update the spec first or change the implementation first?

I don't think the spec mentions that 'paints' outside of the viewport must be excluded. I think we can fix them in either order. |
