Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Gentoo; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Have the new Material Design bookmarks page enabled, open chrome://flags/#enable-md-bookmarks and choose "Default" or "Enabled" 2. Open bookmarks page chrome://bookmarks/ What is the expected behavior? Vertical space should not be wasted as currently done. Even if the browser window is fully maximized (MBP), only 25 bookmarks are shown, compared to 45 with the old design. This makes managing your bookmarks a really, really tedious task. What went wrong? Each item on the bookmarks page wastes 40px of vertical space. The old design only required about 20px. This results in only half the bookmarks being visible at once compared to the old design. Did this work before? Yes Version before 67, 66.something Chrome version: 67.0.3396.87 (official build) Channel: stable OS Version: 10.11.6 (15G21013) Flash Version: —

Hey Sindhu, it's a different issue. This one is about the bookmarks overview page, not the bookmarks bar. Can you please revert your change?

@Reporter: Sorry for missing that. This issue is seen from introduction of material design bookmarks from M-63.i.e; In old chrome://bookmarks seeing around 27 bookmarks and in material design seeing around 15 bookmarks in a page. Hence considering this issue as Non-Regression and marking as Untriaged for further inputs from dev team. Thanks!

I used to fix this by setting enable-md-bookmarks to 'disabled' in chrome://flags ... but booted up today and that flag is no longer available, so now I'm stuck with half as many bookmarks on-screen, and the URL "chrome://bookmarks/#2" is broken, needs to be replaced with "chrome://bookmarks/?id=2" (query string instead of fragment identifier)

It's pretty sad that now we have to BEG to get the NORMAL bookmark manager back, when it was a perfectly working piece of code. Moreover why take away the OPTION for those who wish to re-enable it by this flag? chrome://flags/#enable-md-bookmarks Please bring the flag back to make a lot of people happy. :)

+1. One workaround is to change page zoom size (e.g. Ctrl+minus), but you still can't get similar information density because of the huge amounts of spacing betwee each bookmark entry. Maybe it would be possible to bring back the old manager via an extension. ps. Of course the flag was getting removed... One way or no way.
