Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.79 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open http://output.jsbin.com/mifaro in chromium/chrome 2. Type anything 3. Lag a lot What is the expected behavior? The expected behavior would be like it is in other browsers: No lag at all. What went wrong? As reported in an old issue never answered, it seems that chromium/chrome renders all text again every time you write something inside the contenteditable area https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=582844 Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 67.0.3396.79 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: It's an old problem that's probably there since contenteditable became a thing, and was never fixed....

Able to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 67.0.3396.79 and on latest chrome 69.0.3456.0 using Mac 10.13.5, Ubuntu 14.04 andWindows 10. Same behavior is seen on M60(60.0.3112.113) hence considering it as non-regression and marking it as Untriaged. Thanks!

I just hope it gets fixed in the next update, as it is a big(and really old) problem for projects such as mine which have text editors that may need to work with thousands of characters/lines of text....

Blink>DOM => Blink>Editing Editing folks would be interested in this.
