The PPD doesn't have a duplex option. We'll need to raise this w/ Epson

Vadim: you might be able to pull the escpr driver from Epson's side and hand-concoct a PPD w/ duplex support by looking at other PPDs that do have it. If you try this, please let me know your results.
#3 sounds Greek to me :)

Do you suggest that I build my own Crhome OS image with a driver from Epson?

What's PPD?
You can find the PPDs through Epson's website. http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/searchModuleFromResult

Search for your printer name and specify your OS as "Linux"

in fact Eposn finally published a firmware update and the printer is working again.
