Command+C opens developer tools

Project Member Reported by wedum@google.com, Jun 11 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version : Version 69.0.3453.3 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
OS version : 10.13.4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open any web page
(2) Press Command+C (to copy text)

What is the expected result?
Text is not copied to clipboard

What happens instead?
Developer tools opens

For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu
page at the end of this report.

Been happening to me since update too and its very very annoying :-( Paste works well, but copy opens DevTools.

Seems that there is a shortcut in devtools: Cmd + Shift + C for "Select node to inspect". Maybe something broke up "shift" and its triggering on cmd+c too?
The same issue... it is a basic and very common command

This issue also affects Incognito Mode for me (Cmd+Shift+N) - it instead opens Normal Window.

Comment 4 by dennis...@gmail.com, Jun 11 2018

Re-open closed tab (Cmd+Shit+T) is also affected.

Chrome Version: 69.0.3453.3 canary (64-bit)
OS version: Mac OS 10.13.5

I also discovered that when clicking into the address field, so the complete address is selected, and then pressing Cmd+Right Arrow or Cmd+Left Arrow moves forward or backwards in history and doesn't jump to the beginning or the end of the selected address.

I don't see this issue happening on -
Chromium	69.0.3454.0 (Developer Build) (64-bit)
Revision	b36fc1a5eb44e60d74ee1df1abaf7e98a31f41ae-refs/heads/master@{#565873}
OS	Mac OS X
JavaScript	V8 6.9.107

Perhaps it's fixed already?
same here on canary macos 10.13.5 Version 69.0.3453.3 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)

This should be fixed by: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/1093301

Which will be present in the next Canary after 69.0.3453.3.

Sorry, I'm new to here. Is there any way we can manually fix this from the link in comment 13, or we just wait for the next Canary update release to fix it?
Sorry, there's no easy local fix.
Same issue here! I'm using Chrome Canary on Mac too.
Please fix this soon.
Not able to copy and paste is so annoying :(
We've pushed out a new version of Chrome. Please try updating.
