Issue descriptionChrome Version : Version 66.0.3359.181 (Official Build) (64-bit) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Visit chrome://settings/?search=zoom (2) Change "Page Zoom" setting to 200% (3) Click on the toolbar icon of an extension like uBlock Origin, Dark Reader, or Chrono Sniffer What is the expected result? Entire extension popup displays. What happens instead? Undersized extension popup displays with scrollbars in it. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. Environment where 200% default zoom is necessary: Windows 7 with multiple monitors that have different DPI.

The observed behavior is consistent with the normal browser windows since their size doesn't change on zooming. Ideally, though, the extension popup size shouldn't be limited to 800x600px (the current hard coded size limit), because most people have bigger displays in 2018.

Note that, unlike browser window popups, extension popups don't allow users to resize them. It doesn't need to be consistent.

Able to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 66.0.3359.181 and latest stable 67.0.3396.87 also on latest chrome 69.0.3464.0 using Mac 10.13.5, Ubuntu 17.10 and Windows 10. Same behavior is seen on M60(60.0.3112.113) hence considering it as non-regression and marking it as Untriaged for more inputs on this Thanks!

This is definitely an area for polish that might be nice to fix. bklmn@, I'd be curious if you have thoughts on whether we need to continue restricting popup size, or if we could handle the restriction in a different way (restrict to size of the browser window?). |
